I attended Wits football trials on the first Saturday, where I played as a centre-back. I performed well enough to be invited back for the next trial session on Wednesday. During the Wednesday session, we were briefed by the coaches before playing a match. At the end of the session, the GDL coach selected two players, but I was not one of them. I stayed determined and attended another trial on Thursday for the Division 1 and Division 3 teams. After the trials, I was selected for the Division 1 team. Since joining the team, I have become the starting Center Defensive Midfield (CDM), which has been a great achievement and has motivated me to keep improving my game.
